Achoo Away Allergy Tea


Since Spring and Summer hit Oregon, I have been suffering with allergies for the past few months. I know many of us deal with seasonal allergies (hay fever)and their uncomfortable symptoms such as: red, watery, itchy eyes, scratchy throat, runny or dry nose/post-nasal drip, phlegm, congestion, fatigue, headache, and difficulty breathing. Many people seek out OTC or prescription medications to control these allergy symptoms, but there is a safer, non-drug alternative. Soothe your seasonal hay fever symptoms away with this herbal tea blend.


  • 1/2 tsp. Red clover leaf 
  • 1/2 tsp. Nettle Leaf 
  • 1/2 tsp. Eyebright leaf
  • 1/2 tsp. Burdock root
  • 1/2 tsp. Dandelion root
  • 1/2 tsp. Chrysanthemum flower
  • 1/2 tsp. Fennel seed 
  • 1 Cinnamon bark 

How To 

For one cup:

  • Mix 1/2 tsp. of each herb (you want around 3 tsp. total per cup  of the mixture)
  • Put herbs in a lose-leaf tea infuser OR place herbs loosely in the bottom of a mason jar. Pour almost boiling water over the herbs and let steep, with a sealed mason jar lid, for 5-10 minutes
  • Remove infuser and pour into tea (If not using infuser, strain herbs through a fine mesh strainer before pouring into cup)
  • To make larger batches: mix 4-5 tablespoon of herb mixture into a quart jar, pour almost boiling water over the herbs and fill to the top, seal the jar and let steep overnight, strain in the morning, put into water bottle and drink throughout the day OR divide into 3-4 cups. Can be drunk hot or cold. I drink 1-2 cups per day and use a local pollen defense tincture (2 droplets per day)
