Chlorella & Water: Morning Potion

This is a concoction I have been making regularly in the mornings. Chlorella is a whole food green algae that is well known for it's ability to detoxify the body of heavy metals such as mercury and pesticides from the bloodstream and digestive tract. Clean blood is important to ensure that metabolic wastes are efficiently transported away from the bodies tissues. This superfood also works to fight anemia and build more red blood cells. The beautiful green color comes from the high amounts of  the pigment C H L O R O P H Y L L. Chlorella contains more chlorophyll per gram than any other plant! 

Why take it in the morning? ideally, you want to take chlorella before meals and with a large glass of water. This allows chlorella to eliminate toxins and multiply the good stomach bacteria that aids in digestion; thus, improving digestion as well as efficient absorption of nutrients. 

Ingredients

  • 1 tsp. chlorella(dosage depends on many factors like if you are taking to eliminate mercury/other heavy metals based on medical screening results OR to promote/maintain overall health. Gradually building up your dosage is key. Start with 1/16 tsp. or 300 mg per day.
  • 8 ounces (slightly warmed water for better mixing. NOT hot as this can interfere with absorption)

Purchase Chlorella that is non-pasteurized & non-freeze dried.  This ensures that you keep the amazing digestive enzymes: chlrophyllase and pepsin. Also, choose broken-cell-walled chlorella, as it aids in quicker assimilation of active nutrients. My favorite source for chlorella, as pictures, is Mountain Rose Herbs.

How To

Mix chlorella and water with a wooden a spoon so that metals do not leach into your healing drink! Take on an empty stomach, 30 minutes before eating and NOT with vitamin C, as vitamin C can loosen heavy metals bound to chlorella and thereby get reabsorbed into the system instead of being eliminated. Avoid taking any form of vitamin C for three hours post chlorella dose.
